The Friends of Hawn Association is deeply concerned about the possibility of a Silica Mine in Sainte Genevieve County. The hazardous materials produced by such a mine can have long term negative impacts on the local watershed and will result in deterioration of one of the one of the scenic treasures of Missouri: Sainte Genevieve County.  

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve County Road and Bridge Foreman Scott Schmieder has advised that Colony Church Road will be closed next Monday (April 18) through Wednesday (April 20) for a pipe replacement.  The road will be closed approximately 1.2 miles from Genevieve Church Road.
