Abigail Woodard is named SGHS April Elks Student of the Month

STE. GENEVIEVE – Abigail Woodard has been named the Ste. Genevieve High School’s Elks Student of the Month for April.

 

 

Abigail is the daughter of Matthew and Sheila Woodard.

 

Abigail’s scholastic honors include ranking 7th in her graduating class, placing in the top 10 percent of her class for three years, earning summa cum laude for three years and magna cum laude for one year. She earned the following course awards: Algebra III, Cadet Teaching, Child Development, FACS I and Spanish II, and she also earned the Perfect Attendance award her junior year.

 

Abigail has been actively involved in several organizations throughout high school. She is a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) for four years, serving in leadership roles for three years, including Region 6 treasurer, Region 6 secretary and Missouri FCCLA state vice president of development. Abigail has been a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) for three years, serving as treasurer during her second year and president during her third year. Throughout her high school career, Abigail participated in the A+ Program, the Future Christian Athletes (FCA) and Student Council (STUCO). She has been a member of FRIENDS for three years, Mentors for two years, and has also been involved in the Principal’s Advisory Group (PAG), the Math Team and the volleyball team.

 

In her free time, Abigail enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on walks, painting, playing with her dog and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys going to the lake to camp, spending time on the boat and taking side-by-side rides. Abigail is employed at Bri’s Buy the Bunch Florist.

 

After graduation, Abigail plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University to major in early childhood education. She hopes to become a kindergarten teacher.
