Thursday, Sept. 14: Women Outdoors Class: Survival Skills at Echo Bluff State Park
Join the Echo Bluff State Park team for a girls’ night out at their Women Outdoors series. These hands-on outdoor classes are taught by women for women. This month focuses on survival skills, where you will learn about the rule of three and building a fire without a light and a match. The class will be held at the bluff top at 6 p.m. All equipment is provided, but registration is required and can be done by calling Connie at 573-751-1224 or emailing connie.weber@dnr.mo.gov. Participation is limited to women over 18. Echo Bluff State Park is located at 35244 Echo Bluff Drive in Eminence.
Friday, Sept. 15: Nature Journaling Workshop: “Color Play” at Echo Bluff State Park
Nature journaling is an exciting and calming way to enjoy nature stress free. Let’s put some color in your journal. Find out the best way to do that. Questions like what do you like to use in the field versus at home and do you prefer to take pictures first and then journal later will be the focus. There will be different types of colored media and types of paper to try. Registration is required and can be done by contacting Connie at 573-751-1224 or connie.weber@dnr.mo.gov. Meet at the Bluff top Pavilion at 10 a.m. at 35244 Echo Bluff Drive in Eminence.
Saturday, Sept. 16: Public Meeting at Trail of Tears State Park
Park representatives in the public to a town hall-style meeting at 2 p.m. in the visitor center. Park operations and updates will be discussed along with a time for questions and answers. Trail of Tears State Park is located at 429 Moccasin Springs in Jackson.
Saturday, Sept. 16: Public Meeting at Dillard Mill State Historic Site
Come to the mill for an open house-style public meeting where participants can learn more about the historic site and its operations and visit with park representatives. Dillard Mill State Historic Site is located at 142 Dillard Mill Road in Davisville.
