Ste Genevieve Museum Learning Center announces September events

STE. GENEVIEVE – The museum’s homeschool Wednesday lessons are back.

 

Lessons will be scheduled on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month and will take place in the Theater Room at 10:30.

 

September 6th’s lesson is “A Badlands Fossil Find” and September 20th’s lesson is “Missouri Symbol Fun.”

 

Reservations are not required.

 

All children receive Free admission on Wednesdays.

 

The Museum’s Learning Center Presents Series will feature Dr. David Schmidt and Dr. John Tosi.

 

Dr. Schmidt and Dr. Tosi will be sharing the story of Shady the Triceratops. Shady is a 7-foot long, 3,000 pound triceratops skull that has been unearthed in the Badlands of South Dakota.

 

This presentation will be on Saturday, September 9th at 1 p.m. in the Theater Room.

 

September Show-Me Dino Lab Days will be Saturday, September 16th and Wednesday, September 27th.

 

Come to the Official Missouri Dinosaur Visitor’s Site and see a scientist at work over the bones of the juvenile Parrosaurus missouriensis.

 

Wednesday, September 27th will be Fossil ID Day from 12pm-3pm at the Museum Learning Center. Bring in your fossils, rocks, teeth, bones, and curio to get an expert’s opinion on what they are, where they came from, and when they originated.
