A funeral will be held Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023 for 95-year-old Vernetta M Thomure of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., who passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at her home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
She was born March 23, 1928 in Ste Genevieve, Mo., the daughter of Edward Palmer and Minerva (Joggerst) Palmer, who both preceded her in death.
She married Norman Thomure September 10, 1949. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by five sons: Thomas (Valerie) Thomure of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Michael Thomure of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Richard Thomure of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., John (Tina) Thomure of Bloomsdale, Mo., and Jeffery (Lorrie) Thomure of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; three daughters: Robyn Thomure of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Tana (John) Schenck of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., and Kimberly (Ronald) Palmer of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; two sisters: Rita Roth of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. and Melba Cartee of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; grandchildren: Aaron, Mandy, DeAnn, Amy,Tim, Alisha, Todd, Tyler, Jamie, Nichole, Megan, Jacob, Grace, Lucas and Katie; and 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Larry Thomure; five sisters: Rosemary Naeger, Majella Basler, Marcella Schulze, Gertrude Grogg and Bernice Schmelzle.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Netta was a true mother, she devoted her entire life to taking care of her family. Her love and strength was inspirational, and her wit and humor will be forever treasured.
Netta was loved by everyone who met her and she will be greatly missed by so many.
Visitation will be 8:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
A funeral for 95-year-old Vernetta M Thomure of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., will be held at noon Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the St. Joseph Church in Zell. The Rev Henry Purcell and Rev. Ryan Weber will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Zell, Mo.
Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice Care or to masses.
