A funeral will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023 for 75-year-old Floyd Elmer Wolter of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 9:11 pm, Friday, August 18, 2023 at his residence.
He was born April 30, 1948, in Chester, Illinois, a son of Elmer and Nelda (nee Wegener) Wolter.
Floyd married Vernitta Voss May 17, 1969 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Bud, Illinois; she survives.
He is also survived by a son: Bradley (Kimberly) Wolter of Aviston, Ill.; a daughter In law: Leslie Wolter of Red Bud, Ill.; a sister: Jeanette (Gary) Vallett of Steeleville, Ill.; four grandchildren: Lauren, Blake, Brooke, and Brinley Wolter; 11 In Laws: Dennis (Donna) Voss, Lela (Harvey) Koester, Randall (Carolyn) Voss, Wayne (Jeanie) Voss, Nola Jean (Sam) Vallett, Mark (Angela) Voss, Stanley (Janel) Voss, Cindy Ebers, Tim (Debby) Voss, Bonnie (TJ) Marshall and Pam (Mike) Henry and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son: Keith Wolter; a granddaughter: Morgan Wolter and a brother-in-law: Larry Ebers.
He had worked as a supply chain coordinator and pig producer.
Floyd was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois.
He was also a member of the Randolph County Farm Bureau.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2023 and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, 9-11 a.m.at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois
A funeral for 75-year-old Floyd Elmer Wolter of Red Bud, Illinois will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois, Officiating: Revs. Mark Nebel and Brian Nowak.
Interment will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran School and Hospice of Southern Illinois.
