Sparta, Ill. police report

SPARTA, Ill. — The Sparta Police Department has released its latest report. 39-year-old Matthew R. Schuetz of Tilden was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with DUI, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. The arrest came during a traffic stop at 1:25 a.m. at Broadway and Jubel.

Adjutant General, Missouri National Guard injured in motorcycle accident

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Maj. Gen. Levon Cumpton, Adjutant General, Missouri National Guard, was injured in a motorcycle accident at approximately 6 p.m. June 23.   Cumpton was slowing to make a left turn when he was struck from behind by an SUV and thrown from his motorcycle, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
