MEETING MINUTES
The April regular open session meeting will immediately follow the reorganizational meeting, which will begin promptly at 6:30 PM. Ahead of the regularly scheduled open session meeting each month, the Board will conduct a closed meeting with a closed record and a closed vote for purposes listed in Revised Missouri Statute Section 610.021 (2); (3) and (13); and (6) and (14) beginning at 5:30 PM.
If closed session business is not completed prior to the regular session held at 6:30 PM on the same night, the closed meeting will be recessed and resumed after the regular session.

A quorum being present and due notice having been published, the regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District was called to order on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 6:41 PM by President Mr. Eric Basler.

The MSBA Board Report is a short monthly video featuring the latest news from MSBA and about public education in Missouri. The program is designed to be shown during local school board meetings.

- REPORT OF THE SUPERINTENDENT
- Governor’s Proclamation State Representative Mr. Bryant Wolfin presented a Governor’s proclamation to the family of Mrs. Darla Bahr, beloved building secretary at Bloomsdale Elementary, in memory of her service and lasting impact.
- Kindergarten Enrollment Results
Superintendent Dr. Paul Taylor shared kindergarten enrollment results from the recent registration days.
- End of 2025-26 School Year The last day of school for the 2025–2026 school year will be Thursday, May 21, 2026. Thursday, May 21, 2026, will be a half day for students. Friday, May 22, 2026, will be designated as a work/check-out day for certified employees.
- High School Prom & Graduation Prom was held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Ste. Genevieve Knights of Columbus Hall.
Graduation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Peggy J. Johnson Gymnasium.
- 2025-26 Recognition & Retirement Banquet Dr. Taylor announced that the district Retirement and Recognition Banquet will be held Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Ste. Genevieve Elks Lodge beginning at 6:00 PM.
- Distinguished Board Member Certification Dr. Taylor congratulated Mrs. Martha Resinger on earning the Distinguished Board Member certification, the Missouri School Boards’ Association’s highest honor for ongoing professional development. This achievement reflects her commitment to effective governance, continuous learning, and exemplary leadership. Through this accomplishment, Mrs. Resinger not only enhances her own effectiveness but also sets a standard of excellence for the board. We appreciate her dedicated service to the Ste. Genevieve School District and her continued commitment to Missouri’s public school students.
- Principal Reports Dr. Bethany Koetting, Early Childhood Center Director; Dr. Stephanie Sulser, Assistant Principal at Ste. Genevieve Elementary; Mr. Nathan Kingery, Principal at Bloomsdale Elementary; and Dr. Scott Mercer, Middle School Principal, presented updates on activities and accomplishments at their respective buildings. Dr. John Boyd, High School Principal, introduced two students who reported on high school activities.
- UNFINISHED BUSINESS
- Instructional Program Presentation – High School Agriculture Agriculture teachers Dr. Hannah Fritsche-Donze and Ms. Kyleigh Sulkowski presented an overview of the high school agriculture program, highlighting curriculum offerings, student opportunities, and program achievements.
- Prop SG Updates Dr. Taylor updated the Board on the ongoing progress and timeline of the wrestling facility project associated with Prop SG.
- Behavioral Program Update Mrs. Stephanie Rayoum, Mrs. Tyne Huck, Ms. Jennifer Est, Mr. Keith McGlasson, and Ms. Tiffany Gilliam presented on the progress, successes, and challenges of the tiered behavioral program at both Bloomsdale Elementary and Ste. Genevieve Elementary.
