Police Chief Daniel Halek presented the police department report. He mentioned the police department had no interactions with ICE during the month. 13:19
There were several public comments concerning the Sheriff’s office cooperation with ICE, most were negative toward the situation involving ICE detainees in the jail. One person spoke in favor of the local facility. 17:44
In addition, both Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff Gary Stolzer (pictured at left) and Chief Deputy Jason Schott appeared before the board of aldermen to discuss issues raised during a recent tour of the jail by members of Congress and a news conference which followed. Street closure request from Ste. Genevieve French Heritage Festival co-chair Sandra Cabot for Friday, June 12th and Saturday June 13 for the 29th Annual French Heritage Festival. The closure will include Market Street from Second to Main Street, 10 p.m. Friday, June 12 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 13. A second closure was requested for DuBourg Street for Saturday, June 14 from 8 a.m. to noon for opening ceremonies.
