STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen met in regular and work sessions Thursday evening.
Aldermen Joe Prince & Amie Dobbs was absent.
Ste. Genevieve Fire District Chief Kenny Steiger briefed the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
Kathy Kreitler and County Prosecuting Attorney Wayne Williams briefed the Mayor and Board of Aldermen regarding Willow’s Nest and a new approach on domestic violence cases.
City Administrator David Bova presented his report: (This is the written copy prepared before the meeting)
- Jokerst Inc. is working on the second part of the water line on the southern or eastern half of LaHaye.
- Alliance completed the Bac-T tests on the water line on N 6th Street between Jefferson & Washington last week and will be installing new service tie-ins this week.
- Our public works surplus vehicles will be listed on Purple Wave next week. We will share that out on our website once they are listed.
- We received the Release of Contingencies from McBride this week. Closing on the property is anticipated on July 29th
- The TAP grant we received for extending the S 4th Street / Center Drive sidewalk is now past the Environmental Services review and will be beginning R/W acquisition in the coming month(s). There are 8 TCEs and 1 ROW to acquire.
- The Sara’s Garden project is nearing completion – new roof has been constructed with metal to be installed this week (dependent upon material arrival and weather). Marzuco’s completed part of the electric installation and also plan to finish up by the end of the month, in time for Jour De Fete.
- Aaron and myself have continued to work with the County Treasurer on organizing and collecting the new county transient tax. A second notification letter was sent out from the treasurer’s office on June 30th to all known lodging establishments and short-term rentals. The tax began being collected on July 1st. We have provided forms to calculate the tax, handouts on how to properly key the tax into each platform, and FAQs on our website to assist all owner and the county

Resolution 2026-42. A resolution by the Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen declaring surplus property for the Ste. Genevieve Police Department.
Resolution 2026-43. A resolution of the city of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri stating intent for the Ste. Genevieve Police Department to apply for a grant through the Missouri Blue Shield Grant Program.
Old Business.
New Business. Bill No. 4732. An ordinance amending Chapter 210 offenses of the Ste, Genevieve Code Of Ordinances as set forth below. Was given first round approval on a voice vote.
