Retired educator launches campaign for Congress

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI – A retired educator has announced he is running for the Republican nomination for Eighth District Congressman from Missouri.

Gordon Heslop says he spent most of the last 20 years on the Accounting faculty at East Texas A&M University.        

He has degrees: Doctor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Laws with Honours, Master of Business Administration, Master of Commerce with Honours and Bachelor of Commerce. He has the following certifications: CPA, CMA, CIA, CFM (all non active).

He lists his most admired people are: Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and Winston Churchill.

He proclaims he is a MANA candidate aimed at Mak(ing) America Normal Again

He states he is “Laser focused on strengthening the middle class while reducing the national debt and maintaining America’s role as leader of the free world.”

His goals are:

Abolish the tariffs,

Focus on the health of the rural economy,

A massive starter home program – not costing the government anything,

Improve and strengthen rural health services,

Our Christian heritage is not up for negotiation,

Ban and defund sanctuary cities,

End chain migration – it may be nice for a family, but it is a bad immigration option for a country,

Increase the minimum wage,

Save social security (my policy does),

Significantly increase trades training,

Make the standard bachelor’s degree a 3-year program, saving 25 percent,

Provide preventative health screening,

Strict audits of all government programs for fraud and waste,

Open all the Epstein files – with victim redactions,

No pardons or commutations for those convicted of assaulting a law enforcement officer,

Higher income earners to pay at least the same tax rate as the middle class does,

The elimination of many of the ways/schemes high income earners and companies use to massively reduce their taxable income,

Eliminate government shutdowns and workers not being paid by legislative remedy,

No boys in girls sports,

No sharia law – a nation can only have one legal system with everyone having the same rights,

Professional sports to be made more affordable for the ordinary citizen,

Ban foreign students from engaging in political activity as a condition of their visa and

TERM Limits of 12 years – 2 terms for the Senate and 6 terms for the House.
