MU Extension in Perry County offers free Smartphone basics classes in June

PERRYVILLE, MO – University of Missouri Extension in Perry County is helping local residents get more comfortable with their smartphones by offering two free classes. On Thursday, June 11 from 1:30 to 3pm the Extension office will host an iPhone Basics class.  On Thursday, June 25, from 1:30 to 3pm, an Android Smartphone class will be offered.

Both sessions will be held at the MU Extension office meeting room in Perryville.  Located at 321 North Main, Perryville.

These classes are designed for beginners or anyone looking to better understand the functions and features of their smartphones. Participants will learn how to:

  • Navigate basic settings
  • Connect to Wi-Fi
  • Send and receive messages
  • Download and use apps
  • Use safety and privacy features

“Smartphones are powerful tools, but they can be intimidating for those who haven’t grown up using them,” said Stephanie Schindler, MU Extension Specialist. “These classes are a great way to build confidence and learn how to use your phone to stay connected with family, manage daily tasks, and access helpful resources.”

Participants are encouraged to bring their own smartphones fully charged. Each class is limited to 10 people, so early registration is recommended.
