Joyce Marie Hurst 83 years old of Saint Mary, MO passed away March 10, 2026.
She was born January 1, 1943 to Delmar Boyd and Doris Boyd, who both preceded her in death.
She married Charles Hurst, he survives.
She is also Survived By a Son, Carl (Linda) Hurst, Daughter, Connie (Kevin) Pinkston, Daughter, Cheryl Hurst, Daughter, Catherine (Belated Charles “Chuck” Absher) Hurst, Daughter, Cara (fiancé Paul Laiben) LaRose, Son, Michael Hurst, Brother, Allen (Alma) Boyd, Brother, Ken (Donna) Boyd; Grandchildren, Joe Bauman, Nick (Taylor) Hurst, Matt (Sumer) Hurst, Jason (Kalen) Pinkston, Rodney (Lauren) Pinkston, Dustin (Tina) Pinkston, Shane Stacy, Cassandra (Brian) Marynowitz, Brandon LaRose; Great-Grandchildren, Corbin, Logan, Mackenzie, Maxwell, Maverick, Aubrey and Owen Pinkston and Adeline and Brock Marynowitz; and many nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart.
She was also preceded in Death By: a Sister, Wanda Boyd; and a Granddaughter, Jessica Renee Barker.
Joyce was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Parish, where she faithfully served as the church organist for more than 30 years.
She had a deep love for music, a passion she shared not only through her ministry but also within her home, passing that love of music along to all of her children.
Joyce especially enjoyed the annual Christmas Church Tour and loved visiting and admiring the beauty of many churches during the holiday season. She was talented and well-versed in computers and photography, and she generously shared those skills with others.
Joyce was particularly creative in designing programs and materials for funerals, weddings, and other special events, always lending her time and talents to help those around her.
Above all, Joyce dearly loved her grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them.
She also had a special fondness for her dogs, who brought her much joy.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026 and 8-9:30 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, MO
A Service for 83-year-old Joyce Marie Hurst of Saint Mary will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Mary.
Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in St. Mary.
