Jefferson County Sheriff investigates shooting death of juvenile

HIISBORO – Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak has announced a homicide investigation involving a juvenile victim.

On Saturday, July 11th, Deputies responded to a home in the 7900 block of Tower Road, near Hillsboro, for a report of a deceased juvenile. Upon arrival, the victim was found in the home with an apparent gunshot wound to her head.

“While the victim was discovered Saturday afternoon, investigators believe the shooting took place Friday evening, and the victim’s body was abandoned for hours,” said Sheriff Marshak.

The victim was later identified as 16-year-old Gabbriana Boyster, who lived at the home.

Through investigation, Detectives identified three juveniles they believe were present at the time of the shooting.

Those three individuals were detained and taken into the custody of the Jefferson County Juvenile Office. Juvenile officials are now reviewing the case and considering charges.

If any further updates to this case are necessary, they will be released at the appropriate time.
