HILLSBORO, Mo. – Jefferson College will formally dedicate the former Technology Center as B. Ray Henry Hall on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 10:15 a.m. on the Hillsboro campus. The public is invited to attend.
Dr. B. Ray Henry, who served as the college’s president from 1970 to 1989 and remains its longest-serving leader, will be in attendance. Now in his 90s, Dr. Henry oversaw significant physical, academic, and cultural growth during his nearly two-decade tenure. Under his leadership, the college expanded by roughly 300 acres, constructed multiple facilities (including the Technology Center that now bears his name), launched its first nursing program and the state’s first word-processing program, established an honors program, and became a federal depository. He also guided the addition of the Arnold campus, athletic facilities, and cultural initiatives.
The building being renamed was the final major facility constructed during his presidency.
This dedication follows last week’s ceremony (August 5) at which the former Arts & Sciences II building was officially renamed Charles McClain Hall in honor of Dr. Charles McClain, Jefferson College’s founding president (1963–1970). Together, the two renamings recognize the foundational contributions of the college’s first two presidents.
