– (Ste. Genevieve, MO) – New SGHS Principal Dr. Ally Klein was recognized as the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MOASSP) Southeast Region High School Assistant Principal of the Year!

This will be Dr. Klein’s first year serving as principal of SGHS. She brings with her 12 years of experiences in public education. Prior to this position, she was the assistant principal at North St. Francois County R-I School District for three years, where she was nominated for this prestigious recognition. Dr. Brent Trankler, MOASSP Southeast District Treasurer, and Mr. John Cundiff, MOASSP Past President, presented Dr. Klein with her award.

Genevieve in this new leadership role,” Assistant Superintendent Dr. John Boyd said. “Her focus on building strong relationships, creating a positive school culture and finding innovative ways to support students and staff will serve SGHS well. This award speaks to the impact she has already made as a school leader, and we are excited to see all that she will accomplish here at home. Congratulations to Dr. Klein on this well-earned honor.”

At the core of her leadership is a strong belief in maintaining a positive school culture grounded in relationships, ongoing excellence and student voice. She is committed to helping both students and educators reach their fullest potential by fostering an environment where everyone is encouraged, challenged and supported.
Also known for her innovative approach to leadership, Dr. Klein designed and implemented numerous sustainable programs and technology systems to improve the day-to-day efficiency of school operations. Developing automations and streamlining existing processes, she has helped simplify workflows, improve communication, reduce repetitive tasks and make the work of teachers and staff more efficient, allowing them to spend more time focused on students.
A proud 2009 SGHS graduate, Dr. Klein began her career as a junior high and high school social studies teacher at Valley R-IV School District before spending the past nine years at North St. Francois County R-I School District, where she served as a high school social studies and English teacher, dual credit instructor through Missouri Baptist University, assistant volleyball coach, esports coach and Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society advisor and founder, before being promoted to assistant principal in 2023.
Dr. Klein and her husband, Kyle, have been married for eight years. While they currently reside in Festus, they are looking forward to making Ste. Genevieve home once again. Together, they enjoy traveling and spending time with their two Australian Shepherds.
