Number of new COVID-19 cases fall 23 percent in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Friday reported 8,519 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including an increase of 149 deaths since March 4, 2022.   Last week the total was 10,462, a difference of 2,405 or 23 percent.   Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 3,045,718
