CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Saint Francis Healthcare System is pleased to welcome Adam W. Norwood, DO to Advanced Orthopedic Specialists. Norwood is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He completed his fellowship at Northwell Health/Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, NY, residency at SSM Health OSU/St. Anthony Orthopedic Surgery, Oklahoma City, OK and medical school at University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth, TX.

As an award-winning orthopedic surgeon, Norwood specializes in joint replacements, including total hip and knee replacements, partial knee replacements, complex revisions, robotic joints and more. He also provides non-operative care for hip and knee arthritis and general fracture care, among other orthopedic services.

Norwood sees being a joint replacement surgeon as his true calling. He said, “Unknowingly, the Lord prepared me for a career in taking care of our aging population through joint replacements since I was a kid. I grew up around woodworking, helping my grandad and dad build furniture and the house I grew up in. The same tools I grew up learning to use are similar tools to what we use in surgery.”

At Advanced Orthopedic Specialists, patients can access a full range of treatments for orthopedic injuries and conditions of the ankle, elbow, foot, hand, hip, knee, shoulder and wrist. Every provider has the goal to help get patients back on the path to a better quality of life.
