Ste. Genevieve County R-II Kindergarten Registration

STE. GENEVIEVE – Kindergarten Registration will be held at the locations and times listed below. Please contact your elementary office after 9 a.m. to schedule appointments.

To be admitted to kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year, a child must turn 5 years old prior to Aug. 1, 2024.

Ste. Genevieve Elementary:

  • Saturday, March 2, 2024, starting at 8 a.m. (by appointment only)
  • Call 573-883-4500 ext. 3 to schedule an appointment.

Bloomsdale Elementary:

  • Saturday, March 23, 2024, starting at 8 a.m. (by appointment only)
  • Call 573-883-4500 ext. 4 to schedule an appointment.

Parents and guardians are welcome, but please make other childcare arrangements for siblings. Items needed to complete registration and attend classes for the 2024-2025 school year include:

  • Child’s Official Birth Certificate
  • Child’s Updated Immunization Records
  • Child’s Social Security Number
  • Proof of Residency
  • Physical (physical forms are provided at registration and need to be returned to the elementary office before the first day of school)

Each child will be given speech, hearing, dental, and vision screenings, along with the Developmental Inventory Assessment of Learning (DIAL 4) including motor, language, concepts, self-help, and social emotional skills. Parents will receive information regarding their child’s screening results the same day.

Please Make Sure to:

  • Allow up to two hours for the developmental screening process
  • Dress your child in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes for the event.
  • Make childcare arrangements for any siblings.

If you cannot attend during the times listed above, please call the school to make other arrangements.

Developmental Screenings

Ste. Genevieve Elementary Parents As Teachers offer FREE Community Developmental Screenings year-round for all children within district boundaries ages 3 months to 5 years. Screening is the process of measuring a child’s general health, vision, hearing and development. The areas of development focused on during this screening are motor, language, concepts, social/emotional, and adaptive. To schedule a screening, call PAT at 573-883-4500 ext. 2424.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

All Missouri children under five years old are able to register for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. There is no deadline to register. The Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by providing high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to children free of charge. In order to receive books, a parent or guardian must register their child on the Imagination Library national website. Books will be mailed directly to the homes of registered children every month.
