Memphis, Tenn. man hurt in I-55 crash in Ste. Genevieve County

JEFFERSON CITY — A 48-year-old man from Memphis, Tenn. received minor injuries in a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County Wednesday morning.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Joe E. Hayes was treated at the scene for a cut on the hand and released.

 

The patrol says the crash happened when the 2015 Freightliner Hayes was driving south struck the guardrail and a concrete bridge face (Route Y). The truck then returned to the roadway and skidded off the left side of the roadway, striking the median cables.

 

The patrol says Hayes was buckled up.

 

The crash happened about 6:35 a.m. Wednesday at the 156.6 mile marker.

 

The Freightliner had extensive damage and was removed by Ste. Genevieve Towing.
