Bernice Cowan, 86, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 1:45 am, Friday, November 24, 2023 at Independence Care Center, Perryville, Missouri.
She was born to the late Robert Morgan and Mabel Mary (nee Brown) Clendenin on October 22, 1937 in Rockwood, Illinois.
Bernice married Stanley Cowan on October 3, 1959 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Rockwood, Illinois; he preceded her in death on October 25, 1980.
She had worked as an insurance agent for Prudential and Shelter Insurance Companies.
Bernice was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Rockwood, Illinois. She was also a member of the Daughter of the American Revolution. Bernice enjoyed following her grandchildren’s sport and band activities and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies fan.
