JEFFERSON CITY — A 51-year-old Altenburg man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route A in Scott County Saturday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 51-year-old Douglas B. Murakami was taken by Air Evac helicopter to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau and then transfered to St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis where he was pronounced at 9:32 p.m. Saturday.
The patrol says the crash happened when the 2022 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle Murakami was riding west on Route A ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a tree, overturned, and struck a parked vehicle.
The crash happened about 3:10 p.m. two miles east of Chaffee.
The patrol says the Vulcan was a total loss and was removed by Midwest Towing.
