A funeral will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023 for 89-year-old Yvette “Nanoo” Henriette Phillips of Rockwood, Illinois, who passed away at 9:54 a.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, Illinois.
She was born October 24, 1933 a daughter of Alexandre and Georgette (nee Marais) DuPrey in Berthouville, Normandy, France. They both preceded her in death.
Yvette married William Phillips on July 5, 1958 in Fauville, France; he preceded her in death on October 20, 2016.
She is survived by a daughter: Melanie (Sam) Hindrichs of Rockwood, Ill.; a daughter-in-law:
Tina Phillips of Murphysboro, Ill.; three nephews: Glen Phillips, Steven Phillips and Gary Woods; a niece: Gianna Phillips; 10 grandchildren: Landon (Laina), Parker, Alta, Lena, Lincoln and Anna Hindrichs, Amber Phillips and Rocky (Jennifer), Mike and Steven Maki, four great grandchildren, close family friends: Jill and John Reith, Wade and Emily Harff and Garret and Amy Albaugh and her beloved cat: Kitty.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Didier “DJ” Phillips.
She was a homemaker.
Yvette enjoyed gardening, cooking, working in the garage, mushroom hunting and caring for all people.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Illinois.
A funeral service for 89-year-old Yvette “Nanoo” Henriette Phillips of Rockwood, Illinois, will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois. Pastor Sam Hindrichs and Rev. Paul Keeton will officiate.
Interment will be in the Glenn Cemetery in Rockwood, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the Steeleville Baptist Youth for camp.
