A funeral will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 for 74-year-old Thomas J. Rowland of Perryville, Mo. who passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his residence.
He was born January 12, 1947 in The Bronx, N.Y. to Michael and Mary Ellen (Sheerin) Rowland, who both preceded him in death.
He and Ronda Blessing were married August 10, 1974 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. She survives.
He is also survived by four sons: Matthew (Amy) Rowland of Perryville, Jeremy (Nikki) Rowland of Jackson, Mo., Nathan (Layne) Rowland of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Nicholas (Kate) Rowland of Maplewood, Mo.; a sister: Michele Comer of the state of New Jersey; four granddaughters: Leah, Kate, Taylor and Alex Rowland; and four grandsons: Colin, Oakland, Charlie and Brooks Rowland.
He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law: Chalmer Blessing; a sister-in-law, Lauren Blessing; and a brother-in-law, Andy Comer.
He received a Masters Degree in History and was a Social Studies teacher at Perryville High School.
He was a member of Christ The Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, The Knights of Columbus and was an American Legion Booster.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 and 8-9:20 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral for 74-year-old Thomas J. Rowland of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Friday November 5, 2021 at Christ The Savior Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Blessing officiating.
Burial will follow at Christ The Savior Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Crown Hospice.
