ST. LOUIS – The Most Reverend Mitchell T. Rozanski, Archbishop of St. Louis, has announced results of the 2022 Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA), the Archdiocese of St. Louis’ largest annual fundraising campaign.
Nearly 37,000 households across the archdiocese gave just over $16.8 million to the 2022 Appeal. Estate gifts and anticipated corporate matching gifts would bring the total to over $17.1 million.
Approximately 92 cents of every dollar raised by the ACA benefits people across the Archdiocese, which includes the City of St. Louis and 10 counties in eastern Missouri.
The ACA provides funding to more than 40 ministries and programs, including services for those in most need, regardless of faith, through ministries such as:
- Catholic Charities serves children who are abused and neglected; individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness; families seeking support to address substance use disorders; senior adults with income challenges; and many more. Last year, these services impacted more than 96,000 lives.
- Rural Parish Clinic provides no-cost mobile medical and dental care in several rural locations for incomequalifying adults without insurance.
- Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service, the largest social service provider for individuals, families, and children in the Tri-county area of St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren, focuses on housing, hunger, disaster recovery, and other needs.
- Archdiocesan Catholic Schools educate and form more than 24,000 Catholic and non-Catholic preschool through high school students throughout the region.
Archbishop Rozanski said: “It brings me joy to see the people of our archdiocese come together as one Church to embody Christ’s compassion. Thanks to the prayers and generosity of our volunteers, pastors, and donors, thousands of our people will find hope and healing through ministries supported by the Annual Catholic Appeal. When we answer God’s call to share His gifts with those most in need, we grow closer both to Him and to each other, united as one family, brothers and sisters all.”
Brian Niebrugge, Executive Director of Stewardship and the Annual Catholic Appeal, said: “I continue to be amazed by the generosity of Catholic families and individuals across the Archdiocese. Your gifts are going to make such a big difference to our brothers and sisters. Most importantly, you’ve helped make Christ visible to the world in a way the world can understand. Thank you!”
