CHESTER – St. John Lutheran Church in Chester invites children ages three through grade six to an island adventure.
Vacation Bible School “Discovery on Adventure Island” will be July 20, 21 and 22 in the school from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each evening. The adventure will include music, crafts, games, cooking, snacks and Bible stories.
At the cooking station, one activity will allow the students to create their “Lost Sheep” snack with marshmallows, icing, pretzels and a cake roll. VBS explorers will participate in age-appropriate crafts and active games.
The lively music station will include action songs to reinforce the Bible stories and verses of the evening. Attendance prizes will be awarded each evening from generous local businesses.
There is no charge for Vacation Bible School and it is open to all children, not just members of St. John. Please encourage friends, neighbors and family members to attend. Children are invited to all three evenings, but are welcome to attend whenever they can. Pre-registration is appreciated to help leaders plan, but walk-ins will be welcomed. Please call St. John Church office 618-826-3545 to register or for more information.
On Saturday, July 23, VBS students will be invited to St. John’s 5:00 p.m. worship service to share songs learned during the week.
An “Adventure Island” light supper for students, families and friends will be held in the Parish Hall following the service.
A slide show of VBS activities will be shown and attendance prizes will be given! Consider attending this July 23 Saturday evening service and meal to enjoy the performance by the children!
