James Phillip Coop

James Phillip Coop, 84, of Evansville, Illinois, passed away Monday, June 20, 2021 in Evansville, Illinois.

 

He was born to the late Edward C. and Elsie T. (nee Pautler) Coop, Sr. on September 7, 1937 in Belleville, Illinois.

 

James married Mary Kathleen Simpson on April 27, 1968 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ruma, Illinois; she survives.

 

He had worked at Singer, Wiegmann and was a life time farmer.

 

James was a member of St. Pius V Catholic Church in Walsh, Illinois for 47 years. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface in Evansville, Illinois. James was also a member of the American Legion Post #1172 and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus #1952 both in Evansville, Illinois. He was also a member of Catholic Knights and Ladies of Belleville. James enjoyed gardening, playing cards, hunting, fishing and trapping. He made his kids and grandkids a priority and loved spending time with them and cheering them on in their sports and activities. He greatly enjoyed his travels with family and friends.

 

He was a Vietnam Army Veteran and had served in Germany.

   Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends
