Karen L. Lohmann, 67, of Perryville, Missouri passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Ste. Genevieve Care Center.
She was born May 29, 1959 in Woodstock, IL to Vernon Otto and Hildegard Lillian (Verseman) Lohmann.
Karen spent many years serving her community as a cook at the Perry County Senior Center before retiring. She loved listening to music, baking, traveling, camping and spending time with the people she loved. Karen had a wonderful sense of humor and a personality that could fill a room. She enjoyed making others laugh and created countless memories with her family throughout the years.
Above all else, Karen treasured her family. Her two daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were truly the light of her life. She loved being surrounded by them and took great pride in watching her family grow. The memories, laughter, and love she shared with them will continue to be cherished for years to come.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer (Dustin) Hood, Heather (Nathan) Maag; six grandchildren, Breana (Noah) Nortin, Skyler (Trevor) Brewer, Colby (Sophia Taylor) Stone, Colton Richardet, Emerson Maag, Ava Maag; four great-grandchildren, Bentley Brewer, August Nortin, Brinley Nortin, Brooks Brewer; brother-in-law, Bruce Akers; sister-in-law, Mary Lohmann and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Lloyd Guth; sister, Pattie Akers; two brothers, Terry Lohmann, Allen Lohmann; granddaughter, Caelen Louise Maag; great-grandson, Reign Matthew Nortin.
Karen will be remembered for the love she had for her family, the laughter she brought into their lives, and the many memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Rev Nate Ammon officiating.
