Ste. Genevieve County Commission Minutes

THURSDAY, JUNE 18, 2026 21st Day of the April Term.

 

The Commission Met Pursuant to Adjournment. Present were Associate Commissioners Cory Ford and Mark Marberry along with Deputy County Clerk, Michele Gatzemeyer. Absent from today’s meeting was Presiding Commissioner, Randy Ruzicka.

 

THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY INTERIM PRESIDING COMMISSIONER FORD AT 8:15 A.M.

 

THE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING THAT WAS HELD ON MONDAY, JUNE 15, 2026 WERE READ.

 

COMMISSIONER MARBERRY MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE SAID MINUTES AS PRESENTED. COMMISSIONER FORD SECONDED THE MOTION. COMMISSIONER MARBERRY YEA. COMMISSIONER FORD YEA. ALL IN FAVOR. MOTION PASSED.

 

Commissioner Marberry made a ‘Motion’ to approve the Agenda for today’s meeting. Commissioner Ford seconded the ‘Motion’. Commissioner Marberry yea. Commissioner Ford yea. All in favor. Motion passed.

 

Mr. Scott Schmieder, R&B Foreman, was absent from today’s Commission Meeting. Following update was provided as it relates to Ste. Genevieve County ‘R&B’ Department:

*Vern Bauman Contracting nearing completion on ‘paving’ of Cindy Lane/Cedar Trail. This based on previous ‘Award’ that was already provided to said ‘Contractor’ regarding Bid Award for said road(s). *Commission held discussion on ‘potential’ of paving following roads: Bloom Road, Charter Church Road, & Three Rivers Road. “ROW” for Phase III of Citizen’s Electric ‘Salem Bulk Power Project’ tabled until ‘future’ meeting. Several ‘minor’ issues remain to be ‘worked out’.

 

Ste. Genevieve Courthouse ‘Steps’ Project Update – Commissioner Ford working with several ‘Contractors’ that specialize in ‘repair’ to steps in an attempt to make repairs vs. the need to replace to cut down on cost. Additional information is necessary. As soon as detail becomes available, information to be provided.

 

Commissioner Ford provided update for the Ste. Genevieve YMCA. Several updates were noted as follows:

 

*Updates to the ‘Gymnasium’ @ ‘Original’ Community Center – LOOK GREAT!

*Part ‘on order’ for ‘Pump’ (as previously reported) at River Rapids Water Park.

*Additional ‘help’ hired in ‘Maintenance Department’ @ Ste. Genevieve YMCA. ‘Request for Qualifications’ for Professional Engineering Services placed in local news publication with ‘Bid Opening’ scheduled for Monday, July 6th @ 10:00 A.M. Said ‘RFQ’ is in compliance/preparation to proceed with necessary requirements of CDBG Grant for ‘Elevator Maintenance Improvements’ to antiquated elevator here at the Ste. Genevieve County Courthouse.

 

Accounts Payable for Date 6/18/2026 in the amount of $376,854.41 were reviewed and approved for payment by the Commission.

 

ADJOURN

 

A Motion was made by Commissioner Marberry to adjourn @ 10:35 A.M. due to ‘unexpected illness’. Commissioner Ford seconded the ‘Motion’. Ordered that the Commission adjourn until 6/22/2026.
