Jefferson College Foundation and Enterprise Bank & Trust launch free, no-pressure financial planning and legacy workshop series

HILLSBORO, MO — Planning for the future is something every single one of us needs to do, yet the world of taxes, estate planning, and financial management can often feel overwhelming, complicated, and hard to access.

To bridge this gap and provide clear, simple guidance for everyone in the community, the Jefferson College Foundation has partnered with Enterprise Bank & Trust to host a complimentary, educational series of three workshops titled “Sip, Support, and Sustain: Afternoon Tea & Legacy Workshop Series.”

The series will be held at the Fine Arts Center on the Jefferson College campus in Hillsboro, running from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on three select dates over the summer.

Designed explicitly for everyday people who want to learn how to protect their assets, understand tax advantages, and care for the causes they love, the events are completely free and open to the public.

Organizers stress that this series is strictly informational and community-focused. Hosted at a local community college for the benefit of all, there will be absolutely no product selling, financial solicitations, or high-pressure marketing tactics.

Attendees will be treated to premium teas and light refreshments in a relaxed, comfortable environment where they can openly learn without any obligation.

“Financial and estate planning shouldn’t be a luxury reserved only for a few, nor should it come with the pressure of a sales pitch,” said Melissa Barreca, Executive Director of the Jefferson College Foundation. “We want to demystify these topics for our neighbors. This is about giving our community the practical, straightforward tools they need to protect their families and maximize their hard-earned dollars, completely free of charge, over a nice cup of tea.”

The three sessions are structured to break down complex rules into simple, practical language:

  • June 11 — Tax Strategies: Tax-Smart Giving Now: Learn how to maximize your charitable deductions and utilize current tax laws to your personal advantage.
  • July 14 — Financial Planning: Donor-Advised Funds & Flexible Giving: Explore how to create a flexible, long-term plan that adapts and grows alongside you throughout your life.
  • August 12 — Estate Planning: Leaving a Lasting Impact: Discover straightforward ways to safeguard your assets while providing for your loved ones and the community institutions you cherish most

Whether you are looking to understand basic tax benefits, learn how to build a flexible financial safety net, or figure out how to pass your assets seamlessly to the next generation, this series offers clear, actionable terms without the confusing financial jargon.

While the event is completely free, seating is limited to ensure a comfortable experience for all guests, and advance registration is requested. To secure your seat, call the Jefferson College Foundation directly at (636) 481-3116 or scan the QR code featured on the event flyers or visit the registration web page at https://www.jeffco.edu/foundation/events/ .
