STE. GENEVIEVE — Sales tax receipts in the city of Ste. Genevieve continued to follow the same pattern, they were up for the month of August, but down so far this year according to the latest information from the Missouri Department of Revenue.
According to the sales tax distribution deposit notice from the D-O-R the city’s one percent general sales tax took in just over $77,000 in August which was up nearly $3,900 from August 2023. Despite that, the year to date total received in the first eight months of 2024 is down nearly $8,800 from the first eight months of 2023.
Both the half-cent mass transportation and capital improvements tax receipts also indicated higher amounts for the month and year to date figures which were down.
Ste. Genevieve’s consolidated city use tax was up more than $2,500 from the same month last year, and the calendar year to date figure was up $120,000 compared to the first eight months of 2023.
