Ste. Genevieve man hurt in three-vehicle crash on Highway 32

JEFFERSON CITY — A 56-year-old Ste. Genevieve man received minor injuries in a three-vehicle chain-reaction traffic crash during the noon hour Tuesday on Highway 32 in Ste. Genevieve County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Mark S. West was taken to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The patrol says the crash happened when an eastbound 2014 Mercedes Benz GLK 350 driven by 26-year-old Allison Brewer of Perryville stopped to make a left turn. An eastbound 2010 Ford F150 driven by West stopped behind the Mercedes. A third eastbound vehicle, a 2019 Chevrolet Express driven by 61-year-old Daniel C. Varnum of St. Louis failed to stop and struck the rear of the F150, which was pushed off the roadway by the impact, and then the Chevrolet Express also struck the rear of the Mercedes.

The patrol says neither of the other two drivers were hurt.

All three motorists were buckled up.

The crash happened about 12:40 p.m. east of I-55.

The F150 had moderate damage and was driven from the scene, the Mercedes had minor damage and was driven from the scene, but the Chevrolet Express had moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
