A private memorial service will be held at a future date for 77-year-old Roger R. Rausch of Evansville, Ill., who passed away at 6:45 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2024 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born December 16, 1946 in Belleville, Ill. a son to Clarence and Bernice (nee Reinhardt) who both preceded him in death.
He is survived by a daughter: Renae (David) Lazaroff of St. Louis, Mo., two siblings:
Rodney Rausch of New Athens, Ill. and Cynthia (John) Schaefer of Lebanon, Ill.; two grandchildren:
Sloan and Rory Lazaroff; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Roger worked as a laborer for over 50 years and was a member of Local No. 459 in Belleville, Illinois.
Roger was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and American Legion Post No. 1172 in Evansville, Illinois.
He had been an avid hunter and fisherman.
His favorite pastimes were woodworking, selling antiques with his sister, spending time with his grandchildren, and playing trivia with his friends.
He was a Korean War Army Veteran.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made in Roger’s memory to the American Legion Post No. 1172 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
