Bonnie K. Hitzemann

A funeral will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 for 73-year-old Bonnie K. Hitzemann of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 4:20 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family. 

 

She was born to the late Kenneth and Geneva (nee Hanebutt) Stellhorn on October 22, 1950 in Red Bud, Illinois. 

 

Bonnie married Gerald Hitzemann on August 9, 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois; he survives in Red Bud, Ill.

 

She worked at First State Bank of Red Bud for 18 years. In 2012, Bonnie left the bank to care for grandchildren until they went to school. 

 

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois

 

She is also survived by two sons: Chris (Beth) Hitzemann of Columbia, Ill. and Andrew (Theresa) Hitzemann of Columbia, Ill.; a sister: Lynnette Stellhorn of Red Bud, Ill.; two sisters in law: Geraldine Eggerding of Belleville, Ill., Lynn (Tom) Hubert of Red Bud, Ill; three grandchildren: Ella, Evan, and Luke Hitzemann; three bonus grandchildren: Maddox, Camden, and Quincy and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

She was also preceded in death by: a sister: Becky Stellhorn, two brothers: Karl Stellhorn and Darryl Stellhorn, a brother-in-law:  John Eggerding, two nephews: Devin and Derek Stellhorn, and in-laws – Edwin and Esther Hitzemann.

 

Bonnie always put the needs of others before her own, even in her last days.

 

She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

 

Her kindness and generosity will live on through all the lives she’s touched, particularly her grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Red Bud, Illinois and 10-11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois.

 

A funeral for 73-year-old Bonnie K. Hitzemann of Red Bud, Illinois, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois. Officiating: Rev. Scott Hojnacki.

 

Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois.
