Alan Dale Brown

A private remembrance will be held at a future date for 88-year-old Alan Dale Brown of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., who passed away Wednesday, March 27 at his home in Grayhawk.

 

He was born June 5, 1935 in Framingham, Mass., a son of Elwin Brown and Muriel Hudson who preceded him in death.

 

He is survived by a son: Stephen Brown; a daughter: Sandy (Victor) Puhse of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; eight grandchildren: Travis Puhse, Uriah Puhse, Gabriel Puhse, Micah Puhse, Vika Campbell, Allie Puhse, Jacob Brown, Lauren Gonzalez; and 16 great-grandchildren.

 

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Norman Brown.

 

The family will be having a private Remembrance at a future date.

 

Alan proudly served our country in the United States Air Force from 1953-1958 as a jet engine mechanic.

 

He was a machinist-mechanic and field service supervisor for Southwest Air Motive in Dallas, Tex. and Alco engine company in St. Louis.

 

For more than 20 years, he was the supervisor at Festus City Parks Department and was recognized for his diligence and dedication to parks and recreation by the City of Festus. “Al Brown Lake” in West City Park Complex was named in his honor. July 17, 1997 was proclaimed as “Al Brown Day” by the City of Festus, Mo.
