SG Board of Education chooses Adriana Bennett as John T. Belcher Scholarship Nominee

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve High School senior Adriana Bennett has been selected by the Ste. Genevieve County R-II Board of Education as the district’s nominee for the John T. Belcher Scholarship.

 

 

This scholarship is established through the Missouri School Board Association (MSBA) and Future Builders.

As the district nominee, Adriana has the opportunity to apply for a $1,000 scholarship, which is awarded to a student in each of the MSBA’s 17 regions.

 

Following the selection of regional winners, a statewide winner is chosen and will receive an additional $1,500 scholarship. Applicants are judged on the basis of academic performance, extracurricular activities and the quality of an essay.
 
Adriana’s scholastic honors include: being ranked in the top 15% of her class and earning the designation of  Magna Cum Laude for the past three school years. She has been chosen as a class award recipient for Spanish for the past 3 years. Adriana has been involved in National Honor Society; Student Council; Mentors; Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA); Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and Student Ambassador. She has been an officer and leader in many of these clubs and organizations. Adriana has played volleyball and softball at SGHS for multiple years. She also attended the Missouri Association of Student Council Leadership Academy for multiple years.

Adriana works at Wolk’s Insurance and The Artisan at Baetje Farms.

 

In her free time, She enjoys Jeep riding, going to her brother Eli’s sporting events, making graphics for the SGHS students’ instagram and making signs for the spirit crowd at games.

 

She plans to attend the University of Central Missouri and major in Construction Management.
