Jerry Lee Brewer

Jerry Lee Brewer, 77, of Perryville, Missouri passed away peacefully Friday, February 23, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born December 14, 1946 in Brewer, MO to Harley and Cecelia (Swink) Brewer.

Jerry and Iva Lee Wichern were married November 5, 1988 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, MO. They were blessed with 35 years of marriage, she survives him in Perryville.

He was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer and a booster member of American Legion Post #133.

Jerry was a general manager for Roziers True Value for over 40 years. It was a position that he became a well-known and respected member of the community. His decades of dedicated service to Rozier’s demonstrates the loyalty and commitment he gave to many facets of his life. Throughout his life, Jerry enjoyed horseback riding, fishing and spending time outside in nature. He was an avid gardener who took pride in his beautifully manicured flower beds and vegetable gardens. He enjoyed spending tranquil time at his pond feeding the fish and tending to the surrounding woods and wildlife. Jerry did all of this for his number one priority in his life – his kids and grandkids. He especially appreciated teaching them to enjoy the things that he loved the most. He was a family man who was a true “father” in every sense of the word. His love and guidance shaped lives and brought warmth to the hearts of everyone who loved him.

Survivors include his children, Amy (Dave) Canupp of St. Charles, MO, Cara Hupper of Curryville, MO, Chris (Jenny) Brewer of St. Louis, MO, Paula (Jerry) Terbrak of Perryville, MO; brother, Gene (Judy) Brewer of Dunlap, TN, sister, Debbie (Steve) Thieret of Perryville, MO; sister-in-law, Monica Brewer of Festus, MO; eight grandchildren, Kayla (Emily) Davis, Donovan Womble, Kaitlin (Rich) Waite, Kelsey Bockman, Landon Hupper, Jacob Brewer, Luke Brewer, Andrew Terbrak; great granddaughter, Delilah Waite.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Brewer; three brothers, Kenneth Brewer, David Brewer and Charles Brewer.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue from 8:00 am to 9:20 am on March 1, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home with the Rosary being recited at 8:30 am.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, MO with Rev. Clay Kilburn C.M. officiating.

Burial will be at Christ the Savior Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Siteman Cancer Center or St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
