JEFFERSON CITY – A 29-year-old Cape Girardeau woman received minor injuries in a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County Saturday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Pranavi Bommakanti was taken to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
The patrol says Bommakanti had been a passenger in a 2009 Toyota Prius driven by 22-year-old Md J. Hossain, also of Cape Girardeau, who was not injured.
The patrol says the crash happened when the northbound Prius went out of control on the ice-covered 1-55 and slid off the left side of the roadway, crossing the median and striking a guardrail.
The crash happened about 12:30 p.m. north of Route O.
