Sharon L. Derousse

A funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 26, 2024 for 74-year-old Sharon L. Derousse of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 1:05 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2024 at Bria of Columbia, Columbia, Illinois.

 

She was born August 12, 1949 in Red Bud, Ill. daughter of Henry H. and Wilma (nee Kruse) Liefer who preceded her in death.

 

Sharon married Donald DeRousse on November 23, 1967 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, Illinois; he survives in Red Bud.

 

She is also survived by two children: Mike (Shawn) DeRousse of Red Bud, Ill. and Melissa (Brian) Henry of Red Bud, Ill.; five grandchildren: Joshua DeRousse, Nathaniel (Alex) DeRousse, Benjamin DeRousse, Megan Henry and Blake Henry; four siblings: Merle (LaVonne) Liefer Belleville of Illinois,

Roy Liefer (Linda Butler) of Lorida, Fla., Donald (Judi) Liefer Red Bud, Ill. and Virgil Liefer of Red Bud, Ill.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

She was also preceded in death by a brother: Alphonse Liefer.

 

She had worked at the Ben Franklin Store and Horse Prairie Insurance Company in Red Bud, Illinois.

 

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois.

 

Sharon volunteered at St. John’s Lutheran School when her grandchildren attended and also had been a den mother for the Cub Scouts.

 

She enjoyed reading, putting together puzzles, craft projects with the grandchildren and working on embroidering. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud, Illinois

and 9:30-11 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Red Bud, Illinois.

 

A funeral for 74-year-old Sharon L. Derousse of Red Bud, Illinois will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois. The Rev. Mark Nebel will officiate.

 

Interment will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud, Illinois.
