Altenburg man hurt in Route C crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A 43-year-old Altenburg man who suffered moderate injuries in a traffic crash early Sunday morning on Route C in Cape Girardeau County has been charged with felony driving while intoxicated-alcohol-as a persistent offender.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Joshua A. Manche was also charged with failing to driving on the right half of the roadway, resulting in a crash and not wearing a seatbelt.

The patrol says Manche was the driver of a northbound 1998 Honda Civic which ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch about two miles south of Altenburg.

Manche was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau by ambulance for treatment of moderate injuries.
