A funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 for 87-year-old Barbara A. Tindall of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 5:23 am, Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Three Springs Senior Living and Rehabilitation, Chester, Illinois.
She was born August 19, 1936 in Jerseyville, Illinois, son of Charles and Opal (nee McMeen) Sechrest who both preceded her in death.
Barbara married Donald L. Tindall on December 31, 1953 in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on December 23, 1993.
She was a homemaker but had also worked as a cook for St. John’s Lutheran School for several years and cleaned houses.
Barbara was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, Illinois. She enjoyed reading, watching television and loved spending time with family especially the grandchildren.
She is survived by a son: Ed Tindall of Chester, Illinois; two daughters: Jeannie (David) Golding of Chester, Ill. and Sue (David) Hughes of Marietta, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Amy Norfolk, Andrea Stoffel, Zach (Kalli) Golding, Caleb (Maribeth) Golding, Jacob Golding, Chase Hughes and Carleigh Hughes and six great grandchildren: Tyler Ford, Dusty Ford, Hunter Glaser, Logan Stoffel, Zoe Stoffel and Connor Golding.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Charleen Tindall; a daughter-in-law: Linda Tindall; a sister: Wanda Scheffer and a half brother: Charles Sechrest.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois.
