Perryville sales tax receipts are mostly down from 2022

PERRYVILLE — The general sales tax in Perryville is down for the month and down for the calendar year. The only exception being the consolidated city use tax.

 

The city has just been notified of the transfer of November receipts to its account at the Bank of Missouri.

 

According to the Missouri Department of Revenue the city’s general sales tax brought in $187,597.59 in November, which is down nearly $36,000 from November 2022.

 

So far this calendar year the general sales tax has brought in just over $1.9 million which is down more than $57,000 from the first 11 months of 2022.

 

Receipts from the city’s two other sales taxes: mass transportation and capital improvements were also down for the month and the calendar year.

 

The mass transportation tax is down nearly $29,000 for the year, while the capital improvements tax is down more than $21,000.

 

Only Perryville’s consolidated use tax was up. It showed an increase of  $32,927.07 in November and is up $125,453.87 for the first 11 months of the year.
