Michael E. Wilson

Michael E. Wilson, 67, of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois, passed away at 2:55 pm, Friday, November 24, 2023 at NorthShore Highland Park Hospital, Highland Park, Illinois.

 

He was born to William “Bill” E. and Doris J. (nee Simpson) Wilson on June 26, 1956 in Oakland, California.

 

Michael had worked at Ryder Trucking and Chesebrough-Pond’s in Jefferson City, Missouri. He also had been bartender at American Legion and VFW. In his later years, he became caretaker to both of his parents.

 

Michael was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ruma, Illinois, Knight of Columbus #1952 in Evansville, Illinois, and American Legion Post #622 in Prairie du Rocher, Illinois.

 

He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball games and NASCAR races. He also flew RC Airplanes with his father. Michael was known for his big heart and willingness to help anyone.

 

He was Army Veteran and National Guard Veteran.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ruma, Illinois

Officiating: Msgr. Dennis Schaefer, Fr. Clyde Grogan

 

Visitation: Monday – 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Tuesday – 8:00 am – 9:30 am

 

Interment: St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Ruma, Illinois
