JEFFERSON CITY — Two Friedheim teenagers suffered serious injuries in a traffic crash on Route E in Cape Girardeau County Saturday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the 15-year-old and 16-year-old were taken to St. Francis Medical Center for treatment.
The patrol says the crash happened when a 2001 Silverado driven by the 16-year-old ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a roadsign and a tree.
The patrol says the driver was unrestrained and they could not determine if the 15-year-old was buckled up or not.
The crash happened about 10:07 a.m. two miles west of Oak Ridge.
