A funeral will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 for 90-year-old Lorna Wilhelmine Bergdolt of Perryville, Mo. who passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at Independence Care Center in Perryville.
She was born February 8, 1933 in Lowden, Iowa, a daughter of Paul and Selma (Licht) Kruckenberg who both preceded her in death.
She married Waldemar Bergdolt June 18, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, Iowa.
She is survived by two sons: Karl (Rebecca) Bergdolt of Grand Island, Neb., and Kurt (Kate) Bergdolt of Lincoln, Neb.; two daughters: Kathryn (Keith) Kirby of Stewardson, Ill., and Karol (Kelly) Bailey of Ballwin, Mo.; 12 grandchildren: Aaron (Kaitlyn Wing) Kirby, Ethan Kirby, Lara Bergdolt, Carolyn Bergdolt, Elizabeth (Erik) Fuerniss, Jacob Bergdolt, Timothy Bergdolt, Natalie (Austin) Wright, Hannah Bergdolt, Lydia Bailey, Josiah Bailey, Naomi Bailey.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Merlon Kruckenberg, Norbert Kruckenberg, George Kruckenberg, and Robert Kruckenberg; two sisters: Roberta Kruckenberg, and Leanne Sellnau; a sister-in-law: Bonnie Kruckenberg; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Sellnau.
She was baptized on February 26, 1933 and confirmed on April 4, 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Lowden, Iowa.
Lorna graduated from Trinity Lutheran Grade School and Lowden Public High School in Lowden, Iowa.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville since 1986 where she was an active member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Adult Choir, Chancel Guild, and a food pantry volunteer.
Lorna worked at American Trust and Savings Bank in Lowden, Iowa, Linn Community Nursing Home in Linn, Kansas, and Perry Oaks Nursing Home in Perryville, Mo.
She loved her grandchildren and visits from her family and their children, family devotions and singing with her husband Waldemar and family members.
Lorna enjoyed attending music events, making quilts, embroidery and activities of the grandchildren.
She loved growing flowers, especially African Violets.
Visitation will be 8-10 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
A funeral for 90-year-old Lorna Wilhelmine Bergdolt of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville with Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.
Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.
