Three Ste. Genevieve residents are hurt in Route O crash

JEFFERSON CITY — Three Ste. Genevieve residents were hurt in traffic crash on Route O in Ste. Genevieve County Thursday afternoon.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 79-year-old Charley E. Stretch and 83-year-old Alice H. Janisch suffered moderate injuries and 77-year-old Brenda L. Stetch received minor injuries in the crash. All three were taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by Ste. Genevieve County EMS.

 

The patrol says the crash happened when a southbound 2023 Toyota Corolla driven by Janisch failed to stop at a stop sign at I-55 Exit 154 and collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Charley Stretch which was traveling east on Route O. Brenda Stretch was a passenger in the Equinox.

 

All three persons were buckled up.

 

The crash happened about 12:41 p.m.

 

The patrol says both vehicles had extensive damage.
