Dorothy Louise Hendrix, 87, of Festus died July 8, 2023, in Festus.
Mrs. Hendrix was a maintainer for MCC in Arnold. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Born Feb. 2, 1936, in Silica, she was the daughter of the late Rachel (Horn) and David V. Peterein.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years: Gary Leon Hendrix.
She is survived by five children: Charles D. (Linda) Moore of Bloomsdale, Kevin S. (Alena) Moore of Barnhart, Keith G. (Carolyn) Moore of Mapaville, Gary J. Hendrix of Festus and Steven E.(Danielle) Hendrix of French Village; two siblings: Harold D. (Eileen) Peterein and Edward F. (Betty) Peterein; 14 grandchildren: David and Kevin Moore and Jordan McKinney of Ste. Genevieve, Robert Moore of Bloomsdale, Dustin Moore of Farmington, Jennifer Moore and Jacob Weinhaus of Festus, Ashlee Weinhaus of Pevely, Danielle and Stephanie Moore of Mapaville, Kristi Moore of St. Louis, Rachel Bingham of Illinois and Trystan Hendrix of French Village and Kaitlyn Haag of St. Peters; and 15 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Evan, Braxtyn, Charli, Connor, Collin, Mason, Elliana, Kassen, Kevin, Lucas, Alexa, Rebekka, Myka and Hendrix.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Betty Jean (Randy) Schumer; and a brother: Eugene Peterein.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Crystal City.
