A funeral for 85-year-old Philip I. Castellano of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 12:30 pm, Friday, June 23, 2023 at The Waters of Castleton, Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was born April 16, 1938 son of Sam and Isabel (nee Whipkey) Castellano on April 16, 1938 in Willisville, Illinois.
Philip married Janet Schulze on November 27, 1965; they were divorced November 29, 1990.
He then married Beverly Miles on November 1, 1997; she preceded him in death on December 12, 2009.
He had worked as a food supervisor for Menard Correctional Center in Chester. Philip was also a long time Frito Lay sales and delivery man and was known as the “Frito Bandito” and “Frito Phil”.
Philip was of Lutheran Faith. He also played the trumpet in the Chester Muny Band.
He was a United States Army Veteran.
Survivors: 2 Sons: Craig Castellano of Chester, Ill. and Troy Castellano of Indianapolis, Ind.; a stepson: Troy Miles of the state of Kentucky; two grandchildren: AJ and Jason Castellano; two step grandchildren: Alysha and Raelin Miles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Steve Castellano and a sister: Marie Bordewisch.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday at Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois
A funeral for 85-year-old Philip I. Castellano of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Chester, Illinois, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois. The Rev. Timothy Sims will officiate.
Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, Illinois.
