A funeral will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 for 64-year-old Susan M Steiger of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 at her home.

 

She was born August 1, 1958 in St Louis, Mo.

 

She married Tom Steiger on May 14, 1986.

 

She is survived by her husband: Tom Steiger of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; two daughters: Sara: (Special friend Clay Bader) Rahn of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., and Laura (Mike) Riley of Bloomsdale, Mo.; son: Joe (Zenna) Steiger of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; a sister-in-law: Virginia LaRose; brother-in-law: Val Bauman; nieces: Sue (Brian) Dougherty and Suzanne (Mike) Reed; nephews: Mark (Tanya) Bauman, Chris LaRose and Matt LaRose; great nieces and great nephews; grandchildren: Ryan Roth, Chelsea (Jeremy) Hagan, Owen Roth, Maddie (Bradley) McMillan-Green, Logan Wise, Geneva Steiger, Race Riley, and Scarlett Riley; great-grandchildren: Gracelynn Hagan and Gwendolynn Hagan.

 

Preceded in death by: father: Charles LaRose; mother: Bertha (Philips) LaRose; brother: Charles LaRose; sister: Mary Bauman.

 

Visitation will be 9-11 a,m. at the Church of Ste. Genevieve in Sainte Genevieve, Mo. on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 9 a.m. until service time of 11 a.m.

 

A funeral for 64-year-old Susan M Steiger will be held at the Church of Ste. Genevieve Monday, June 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Edward Nemeth will officiate.

 

Burial will follow at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.

 

Memorials may be made to Crown Hospice, Valle Schools, or to the Ste Genevieve County Animal Shelter.

 

Susan was a devoted catholic who took pride in creating heirloom jewelry for those in mourning.

 

For over 45 years, she co-owned Steiger Jewelers and the bakery, where she assisted customers in finding the perfect gifts for their loved ones.

 

When she wasn’t working at the jewelry store, she enjoyed riding with Tom on their Harley.

 

Susan was also an animal lover and rescuer of pets. Her selflessness and generosity were a shining example of her character, and she touched the lives of many.

 

Susan will be remembered for her love for flowers and gardening, cooking and sharing recipes, and her unwavering dedication to her community and her family.
