Monica Mae Gibbar

Monica Mae Gibbar, 95, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 20, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Mary M. (Layton) McDowell.

Monica and Charles W. Gibbar were married January 26, 1952. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2022.

Monica was homemaker. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and former member of St. Rose of Lima Church, a member of the National Guard Auxiliary and the Country Music Association of St. Mary.

Survivors include two sons, Garry Gibbar, Michael Gibbar; daughter, Pat (Dale) Schamburg; one sister, Christine (Jack) Hahn; five grandchildren, Robert (Shelly) Schamburg, Timothy (Jessica) Schamburg, Krystle (Joseph Hacker) Schamburg, Dawn (Sam Mercer) Seals, Dustin Seals; ten great-grandchildren, Marissa (Jesse) Francis, Maci Schamburg, Montana Schamburg, MaKenna Schamburg, Austin Schamburg, Quint Schamburg, Kennadie Schamburg, Kole Hacker, Jayden Seals, Connor Seals; three great great grandchildren, Jaci Schamburg, Hagen Francis, Hallen Francis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Randy Gibbar; daughter Teresa Marie Seals; one sister, MaryAnn Taylor; four brothers, Chalmer McDowell, Robert E. McDowell, Authur McDowell, Carl McDowell; two great grandchildren, Lyla Talley, Leo Talley.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Deacon Direk Hunt officiating.

Burial will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Silver Lake.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in honor of Charles and Monica Gibbar.
